Option No. 3

Arriving and ending in Managua, Nicaragua.

Day 1

Arrival to Managua, Nicaragua. Our guide will pick you up at the airport and bring you to a comfortable hotel in the city.

Day 2

Morning free. City tour in Managua. This is the capital of Nicaragua since 1852 and your entrance to the country. Although the city was badly damaged due to an earthquake in 1972, it is still possible to make a tour that reminds us of the past, visiting the ruins of the old Cathedral, Thetare Ruben Dario and the recently reconstructed National Palace.

Day 3

Transfer from Managua to the city of León. Once in the area of León we will get a good knowledge about old León, colonial León and León of today. As well we include a tour to the countryside of San Jacinto and, for groups, an optional visit to a rum distillery.

Day 4

León and Peneloya Beach. Optional visit to Juan Venado Island.

Day 5

Transportation from León to the colonial city of Granada, one of the most interesting cultural and historical sites of Nicaragua. Granada is situated by Lake of Nicaragua, also known as Cocibolca, north of Mombacho Volcano.

Day 6

City tour in Granada and boat trip to the famous islands in the neighboring lake.

Day 7

Visit to National Park Masaya Volcano and the famous handicraft market in Masaya. The park is one of the most interesting and beautiful phenomenons of Nicaragua.

Day 8

Visit to View Point of Catarina and Lagoon of Apoyo, a small lake 10 kilometers from Granada. The name origins from the taste of its water, Alt Poyec- salty water.

Day 9

In the morning we will go by private bus and boat to Ometepe Island. The island is located in the southwest part of Lake of Nicaragua, about 10 kilometers from the city of San Jorge on the mainland.

Day 10

Day off.

Day 11

Transportation from Ometepe Island to Ecoplaya Beach Resort, located in Bahia Salinas, Coyotera Beach in the northwest part of the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This part of the country is famous for its beautiful beaches and protected and/or ecological areas.

Day 12

Day off at Ecoplaya Resort or similar.

Day 13

Optional tour to Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. Accommodation in Ecoplaya.

Day 14

In the morning you will have the opportunity to enjoy this spectacular area on your own. Night spent in Managua.

Day 15

Transfer to the airport.
