With an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, this is the fifth volcano in the Nicaraguan mountain chain. This volcano has been asleep for a long time and is therefore covered by dense vegetation. Its ecosystem includes 50 species of mammals, 174 bird species, 30 species of reptiles and amphibians and 7 50 different types of flowers. With the right equipment you can reach the peak and at the top it is posible to visit a small museum and a scientific laboratory. There are various trails to get to the edge of the crater and therefore you can practice either hiking or trekking.
Another breathtaking experience is the canopy tour that consists of 600 meters of adventure between trees and wooden bridges. There are 16 platforms, at a height of 10 to 30 meters, where you can take a rest and admire the spectacular wildlife of the rainforest.
